Our Lady of Victories, Southwell and St Anthony’s Calverton Catholic Parish

The church’s unusual name
‘Our Lady of Victories’ is a dedication to the Blessed Virgin Mary commemorating the naval battle at Lepanto in 1571 when a combined Christian Fleet defeated the Turks preventing their occupation of Europe.
